Post Surgery Recovery: Soft Tissue Techniques + Exercise



Any surgeon will tell you that surgery itself can cause scar tissue formation due to the nature of the procedure. Ligaments, tendons, and other soft tissue are cut with the scalpel and left to heal after the sutures close the wound.


Scar tissue tends to draw in on itself, which in turn pulls on the entire soft tissue matrix of the body. This in turn can cause negative compensation as the body adapts.  Our soft tissue techniques will help minimize this scar tissue formation.


Also, after surgery the body tends to weaken and muscle start to atrophy within 24 hours of disuse. Therefore it is prudent to start exercises as soon as you are ready.
